Compare latency while idle, downloading and uploading. Look for the delay that builds up when the connection is busy.
How to take the test
- Make sure you are ready to transmit test data.
- Select a limit and run three measurement phases.
- Compare the latency gain, then repeat over cable.
How to understand the result
The test consumes traffic. If the specified limit is not enough to saturate the channel, the result cannot be considered a full bufferbloat check.
Compare multiple runs under the same conditions. Then change one factor: connection, device, or setting. If the symptom persists, repeat the test on another device and save the conditions - this will help to more accurately describe the problem to support.
