Compare the public IPv4 seen by our server with your router’s WAN address. Check for signs of another NAT layer and learn what the comparison cannot prove.
How to take the test
- Open the connection status in the router settings.
- Enter exactly WAN/Internet IPv4, without password or other data.
- Compare the result; If there is any ambiguity, check the address type with your provider.
How to understand the result
One external address is not enough. VPN, double NAT and multiple connections can change the output.
Compare multiple runs under the same conditions. Then change one factor: connection, device, or setting. If the symptom persists, repeat the test on another device and save the conditions - this will help to more accurately describe the problem to support.
