How to understand the result
The country comes from DB-IP Lite and may be incorrect or outdated. It is not a GPS location, a nationality check or proof of the VPN server’s physical location.
Compare multiple runs under the same conditions. Then change one factor: connection, device, or setting. If the symptom persists, repeat the test on another device and save the conditions - this will help to more accurately describe the problem to support.
How Calcomera measurements work
Why is the country different from the one in the app?
You can have different geolocation databases, virtual server locations, old address records, or a separate browser route. The tester shows a single base score, not a final verdict.
Is IP sent to a third-party geoservice?
No. The server matches your address with a local copy of the DB-IP Lite. The exact geolocation of the device is not requested.
Does the IP change prove that the entire VPN works?
No. It only confirms the change in the address that this HTTP server observes. Other applications and protocols may go the other way.
