First separate the constant shift from the hangs
The lips are already moving, and the words come later. Or a pop is heard before the palms touch. It is more convenient to check a constant shift with a repeating short signal: in a normal conversation it is difficult to notice at what exact moment the sound should sound.
If the video stops, a loading indicator appears and the picture is jerky, there may be another reason. For connection breaks there is internet stability journal. If the picture is smooth and the sound is consistently off, start by checking below.
Compare sound and flash
Select those headphones, speakers or TV that have the problem. First, set the volume low. Keep the tab visible and close heavy applications to prevent erratic rendering from interfering with comparisons.

Start with zero offset. If the sound is perceived later than the flash, gradually shift it to the negative side. If earlier, it will be positive. Pick the area where the match seems most compelling, then check a few more signals. Don't look for millisecond precision: screen speed, perception, and browser limits such comparisons.
Make three short comparisons
- Leave the current audio output and save the selected offset.
- Switch audio to built-in speakers or wired connection. Return the slider to zero and repeat.
- Return to the problematic exit. Make sure the observation is repeatable and not a one-time occurrence under load.
Change only one parameter at a time. Simultaneously switching the browser, headphones, TV and video modes will not allow you to understand what helped.

What does the saved number mean?
A value of −100 ms means that in this test you have chosen to play the signal 100 ms before the visual cue. It does not prove that the radio channel adds exactly 100 ms. The comparison involves the browser, the audio system, the screen, the current output and your perception.
Another player can compensate for the delay itself. Therefore, a setting from a browser cannot be transferred to OBS, a video player or a TV without checking: they may have a different parameter sign and synchronization method. After changing, always check the specific application.
If the problem is not in synchronization
When sound is heard from only one side, first check left and right channel. If the problem occurs only for a specific entry, audio file channel analysis will help you see the empty side and compare the sound in mono. These are separate problems: adjusting the delay does not fix them.
