What the test will show

Check analog sticks at rest, their range of movement and how they return to center. Compare raw axis readings before and after a change.

How to take the test

  1. Connect the gamepad and press any button on it.
  2. Release the sticks, then slowly make a full circle.

How to understand the result

Normal dead zone varies by device and game. The site does not calibrate the controller firmware.

Compare multiple runs under the same conditions. Then change one factor: connection, device, or setting. If the symptom persists, repeat the test on another device and save the conditions - this will help to more accurately describe the problem to support.
